Back in time for summer TV is Claim to Fame season 2. In the series' first run last year, fans eagerly flocked to the show to play detectives, doing their best to unmask the secret family connection each of the contestants had with a well-known celebrity.
While some familial connections were easier to spot than others and social media experts were able to scroll through a few posts to find out who was who, the overall mystery surrounding the premise of the show hugely captivated viewers.
Now in season 2, ABC has made the big guessing game even more difficult with a brand-new crop of contestants. We've done our best to list the major clues dropped as to the identity of each celebrity relative, and developed a few theories in the process.
With that said, let’s take a look at the Claim to Fame season 2 cast.
Carly
Major clues: Uncle has been a big Hollywood star since the ‘80s and has an Oscar.
Status in competition: eliminated week 1
Our guess: We’re going to venture to assume that Carly might be related to Bruce Springsteen, although not his niece. Springsteen in fact has received an Oscar.

Celebrity relative: It looks like Carly’s uncle is two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks. He is perhaps one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors and he’s starred in Forrest Gump, Philadelphia and more recently in A Man Called Otto and Asteroid City.
Travis
Major clues: Travis said his father is his famous relation. Also, Travis asserted his dad is an actor and a Critics Choice Award winner. Travis worried that reciting the first 100 digits of pi would put him in a “nerd category,” which apparently could happen anyway based on who his father is.
Status in competition: eliminated week 2
Our guess/celebrity relative: Again putting our detective skills to the test, we were able to determine that Travis is the son of American astrophysicist, author, science communicator and actor, Neil deGrasse Tyson.
Jane
Major clues: Jane claimed her famous relative is her father, a musician and a Grammy winner. However, only two of these details are true.During week 2, she revealed that her relative was born in 1946.
Status in competition: eliminated week 3
Our guess: We aren’t sure what to guess as it pertains to Jane, so we’ll throw out the name Ozzy Osbourne. However, we think she could be the Grammy winner’s niece.
Celebrity relative: Jane, or Jada Star as it turns out, is the niece of Grammy-winning Country legend and actress, Dolly Parton.
Shayne
Major Clues: Shayne shared that her celebrity family member is her father, he is a musician and he’s a Grammy winner when she first arrived. However, as she continued on in the competition, from images of a crown and references to Buckwheat, it started to appear she had a connection to a famous SNL comedian.
Status in competition: eliminated week 4
Our guess: Shayne’s identity is harder to pinpoint. If we had to say, we’re going to guess she’s related to singer Rick James. Although, as the show goes on in the competition, we're starting to think she may be related to Eddie Murphy.
Celebrity relative: As it turns out, Shayne is indeed related to Hollywood legend Eddie Murphy. She’s his daughter. Eddie Murphy hardly needs an introduction having starred in classic movies like Nutty Professor, Doctor Dolittle, Coming to America, Trading Places and most recently, You People.
Cole
Major clues: Cole asserted that his father is the famous one in his family. Additionally, Cole said his dad is a singer and Grammy recipient. One of these details is a lie.
Status in competition: eliminated week 5
Our guess/celebrity relative: Call us supersleuths, because we did a little digging and were able to determine that Cole is in fact the brother of Grammy-winning artist Alicia Keys.
Olivia
Major clues: Olivia stated that her famous relative is a TV personality and he is the recipient of a Razzie award.During week 3, the clues revealed as it pertains to her famous celebrity were a headband with yellow aliens, a red cross and "Happy New Year" glasses.
Status in competition: eliminated week 6
Our guess: We’re going to take a stab in the dark and say she’s related to host of The Bachelor, Jesse Palmer. Either that or perhaps the legend Dick Clark.
Celebrity relative: Although there weren’t a ton of clues that gave viewers an inkling, as it turns out, Olivia is the niece of Masked Singer judge Jenny McCarthy.
Hugo
Major clues: Hugo shared that his grandfather was once "the most powerful man in the world" and is a Nobel Prize winner.A picture of a donkey was revealed as a clue for Hugo, which could represent the US Democratic Party.In week 7 it was revealed that his celebrity relative is 98 years old, and was born in 1924 in Plains, GA.
Status in the competition: eliminated week 7
Our guess: We’re going to lean into the Nobel Prize winner angle and put out the theory that Hugo is the grandchild of either Al Gore or Jimmy Carter, both of whom have received a Nobel Peace Prize.
Celebrity relative: As it turns out, Hugo is the grandson of President Jimmy Carter.
JR
Major clues: JR has a famous brother who is a musician.During week 2, he revealed his relative was born in Lithia Springs, Georgia.In week 3, his clues were a blue pacifier and a white chef's hat.During week 6, clues revealed for his celebrity relative included an old man, a town and a road. Additionally, in week 7 the celebrity's known famous associates were listed as assumedly Jack Harlow and Billy Ray Cyrus.
Status in competition: eliminated week 8
Our guess: While we originally guessed r&b sensation Khalid, we now think the clues lean more toward JR's famous relative being Lil Nas X.
Celebrity relative: As it turns out, JR is in fact the older brother of Lil Nas X.
Karsyn
Major clues: Karsyn stated that her famous relative is her uncle, who happens to be a musician and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. One of these details isn’t true.During week 3, Karsyn-related clues included a trophy, an eraser with the minus sign and the letter "E," a steering wheel, two records, the number 4 and a mug.In week 4, Karsyn identified her famous relative with a steering wheel and tire.During the challenges of week 7, it was revealed that her relative is 48, was born in 1974 and is from Kannapolis, NC. Additionally, the celebrities known associates are presumably Mark Zuckerburg, Jay-Z and Danica Patrick.
Status in competition: eliminated week 9, episode 9
Our guess: We’re actually going to assume that Karsyn’s uncle is not a musician but rather someone in sports. We initially guessed, former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway, but it's looking as if her relative is someone in NASCAR.
Celebrity relative: Karsyn is the niece of famed NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Chris
Major clues: Uncle is a musician who Chris looks and sounds like. Plus, his uncle has a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star. His relative was big in the 1970s.In week 2, his clue package included a puppy and a heart.In week 7, it's revealed that Chris' relative is 65 and from Ogden, UT. Additionally, the celebrity has known associates Andy Williams, Andrew Lloyd and Weird Al Yankovic. In week 8, it’s revealed that Chris’s famous relative won Dancing with the Stars season 9.
Status in competition: eliminated week 9, episode 10
Our guess/celebrity relative: Based on looks, we initially believed he was related to John Mayer. However, after doing some research, it turns out Chris is the son of music legend, Donny Osmond.
Monay
Major clues: Monay stated her dad is famous, he’s an athlete and he’s an Emmy winner. Again though, one of these details is not true.In week 3, two major clues of a fedora and a cloud with a lightning bolt were revealed.In week 7 it's revealed that her famous relative is 57 and from Plymouth, NC. In week 8 it’s revealed that Monay’s famous relative worked on Saturday Night Live and was in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Status in the competition: eliminated week 10, episode 10
Our guess/celebrity relative: At first glance, we believed Monay was related to NBA champion Bruce Bowen. However, during week 5 of the show, Gabriel interpreted a clue that Monay's famous relation was someone with ties to Saturday Night Live and Curb Your Enthusiasm. After doing some research with that clue in mind, it turns out that her name is Jerrica Brooks and she's the daughter of actor/comedian JB Smoove. He wrote for SNL and stars in Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Claim to Fame season 2 winner
Gabriel
Major clues: Gabriel claimed his brother is an NAACP Award winner. His famous relative was born in San Diego.In week 3, a red and yellow star, a propeller hat and drumsticks were revealed as clues for Gabriel. During week 4 Gabriel mentioned that his brother was on Nickelodeon with Keenan and Kel.In week 7, the major clue of a celebrity with at least 10 kids was shared.
Status in competition: winner
Our guess: We’re going to guess Gabriel is related to House of Payne and Our Kind of People star Lance Gross, who has won an NAACP Image Award. Although, with the Nickelodeon clue, perhaps he's related to someone like Nick Cannon.
Celebrity relative: Gabriel is indeed the little brother of Nick Cannon.
