This week, PlayStation kicked off the Summer sale season with its Days of Play. Over the next two weeks, you can nab titles like Mortal Kombat™ 1 for 60% off or save 25% on FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH, discounted for the first time since its launch. But the savings don’t stop there.
With the PlayStation® Visa® Credit Card*, gamers can earn a subscription to the top-level PlayStation Plus Premium service. You can also earn 5x points per dollar on any title you decide to pick up during PlayStation’s Days of Play.
New cardholders can get a 12-month subscription to the premium service free after making $600 in qualifying purchases within 60 days of account opening. If you’re a Sony PlayStation enthusiast, the credit card is worth checking out since it also lets you earn bonus points that you can redeem for games and gear.
Here’s how you can level up your credit card game.

What’s the offer from PlayStation Visa Credit Card?
By spending $600 within 60 days of account opening, new PlayStation Visa Credit Card holders can receive a code they can redeem for a 12-month PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.
PlayStation has three subscription levels within Plus: Essential, Extra and Premium. For fans of the classic PlayStation games, the Plus Premium subscription offers the most options with PlayStation 1, PS2, PS3 and PSP games available among the 700 games in its catalog.
The announcement notes that if you’re already a subscriber at any level, you can either upgrade or claim the year of Premium by redeeming the code when your current subscription ends. If you were considering getting the Premium anyway, using this credit card offer could save you $160 on the annual subscription, so long as the card’s spending requirements fall within your regular budget.
The Premium subscription offer is only available in the continental US, Alaska and Hawaii, and it ends Sept. 15, 2024.
Additional benefits of the PlayStation Visa
In addition to this welcome offer, the PlayStation Visa lets cardholders earn points for purchases with their credit card, which can be redeemed for games, movies and electronics.
The earning rate is competitive with other co-branded credit cards. Here’s the PlayStation Visa points tier:
- 5x for purchases of PlayStation and Sony products at authorized retailers.
- 3x for cable and internet bill payments.
- 2x on restaurants, including takeout and delivery services.
- 1x on other qualifying purchases.
There’s no annual fee with this card, but if you’re a casual gamer or aren’t brand loyal to PlayStation, there are plenty of great rewards credit cards that earn cash back and points on purchases you make regularly.
Explore other credit cards that earn rewards on gaming purchases
While the PlayStation Visa is best for those dedicated for PlayStation gaming, the Prime Visa lets you earn 5% cash back on Amazon.com purchases, making it ideal if you buy gaming supplies from the e-commerce giant. Or, you might consider the Bank of America® Customized Cash Rewards credit card cards for better general rewards in the category of your choosing to help you earn more money back on each gaming purchase and even your internet or streaming bills.
